Did Sahabah smoke kush before they accepted Islam?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Kush refers to a subset of strains of Cannabis .[1] We are unaware of any such practice being prevalent in the Sahābah before they accepted Islam. We also see no relevance in such a matter and discourage from delving into such frivolous pursuits. Shari’ah advocates seeking only such knowledge which is beneficial for ones Ākhirah.
