Miqat for those travelling from Khobar

Question

I would like to clarify one thing I want to go hajj in this year but I am staying in AL-khobar KSA I want to be wear Ihram from Jeddah shall I go directly in Jeddah to stay 3 days for a muqami then  I can wear Ihram  from Jeddah for do umrah, Is this right way will you please clarify.

 
 

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, the Miqat for those travelling from the east is Dhat Irq. [i] Therefore, if you are travelling from Khobar, Saudi Arabia through Dhat Irq which is situated in the east of Makkah Mukarramah, you will have to don the ihram before or at Dhat Irq.
