Intimacy during menses

Question

I know that sexual intercourse during menses is strictly prohibited in Islam. However, I just wanted to know that my wife usually had seven days of cyclic period. Because of high sexual urge can both of us meet physically after 5 days of menses starting date (Usually during this time she had a little bit of menses coming out).

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it is permissible for one to become intimate with one’s wife who is in the state of Haydh from the entire body excluding the area below the navel until the knee. It is permissible for one to become intimate with one’s wife from the area below the navel until the knee on condition that there is a barrier between the wife and husband. It is not permissible for one to have intercourse with one’s wife in the state of Haydh in any event.[1]
