What does Islam says about Jinns?
Question
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Almighty Allah refers to Jinnats in various places in the Quran.
Allah says:
{وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ} [الذاريات: 56]
Allah created men and Jinns to worship Him (Allah). (Surah Al-Dhariyah : 56)
Men are created from sand and Jinns are created from a smokeless fire. When man was created the Jinns were already in existence.[1]
Jinns are invisible and have their own system of living.
Some Jinns are Muslims some are non-Muslims like Muslims and some are non-Muslims human beings.
Some Jinns are mischievous and can cause harm to human beings.
It is a superstitious belief that the breaking of a glass, etc. is done by Jinns.
To save yourself from evil you should recite Surah Yaseen in the mornings. After every Fard Salat recite Ayatul Kursi (Surah Bakarah 2:255). Before going to sleep at nights recite the last three Surahs of the Quran – Surah Ikhlas, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas three times each then blow on yourself. Try to recite the Quran a lot and make a lot Zikrullah.
