Reference to Fatwa # 25129. Blood Which Flow From The Meat During Cooking Need To Be Washed?

Question

Reference to Fatwa # 25129

Jazak Allah khayr for your reply. With reference to the term stagnant blood mentioned in the Fatwa, does stagnant blood include drops of blood appearing on the meat while cooking it? Is this type of blood ok? The meat is washed before cooking and the drops/streaks of blood appear during cooking.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Stagnant blood includes every type of blood whether the blood is merely visible, flowing, streaking or even if it may be few droplets. It is not a Shari’ requirement for you to wash any blood which appears during cooking or prior to cooking. However, if you wish to wash the blood, it will be a form of cleanliness from your side.
