I Witnessed Blood Flowing From The Meat While Cooking. Is It Permissible To Consume The Meat?

Question

We bought frozen chicken from a Muslim owned halal meat company after getting information from that company that the chicken is hand slaughtered halal. We cooked the meat after washing it but after some time while cooking blood started to flow from some meat pieces. My question is that: the blood which comes out while cooking (and it is visible/flowing), what is the ruling on that? Should those pieces be taken out washed again and then cooked or should we not consume that chicken? Does it mean that blood was not drained properly?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If the animal has been slaughtered according to Shariah laws of Zabah namely the four veins or at least 3 veins have been severed on condition that Bismillah was recited before slaughtering and the blood has completely drained, the meat becomes pure (Tahir).

The redness which is observed after the flowing blood has been removed is the stagnant blood which is pure. It is permissible to cook the meat in that condition.[1]
