Separation if husband is impotent

Question

I was married to a person by arrange marriage, who is not a man but short of manship in other words Namarad do I have the right to be Talaq as I am cheated

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

A marriage may be annulled due to the husband’s impotency on condition that certain requirements are met.[1] Details are known to the Ulamā. Inform your husband that you want him to issue you a divorce. If he refuses, then we advise you to refer your case to your local Ulamā (Judicial) body and apply for an annulment of the marriage.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best

Checked and Approved by,
Mufti Ebrahim Desai.
