What is the meaning of the name Sumayya?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The name Sumayya (سمية) is the diminutive form of the word Samiyah.

The word Samiyah  means a "woman who is high in status, esteem and stature".
