The following are the correct spelling and meanings of the names which will
enable you to pronounce them correctly:
a) Sameera - one who narrates stories at night.
b) Saania (correct spelling, 'Thaania') - second (as in first, second .)
c) Rubeena - derived from Englisg word 'ruby' meaning a precious stone. This
is a common name among the Jewish. Such names should not be kept by Muslims.
d) Aroosa - refers to a bride. It could also mean a baby doll.
e) Aneesa - an affectionate friend.
f) Shaiba - refers to greyness of the hair, i.e. old age. (inappropriate
name)
g) Shayla - load or burden (inappropriate name)
h) Sumayya - something being 'high above'. This was the blessed name of the
first woman to be martyred in Islam.
