Is it permissible for one to keep rabbits?
Question
salam. i wanna know if its not permissible to have rabbits as pets. i
got quite a few and they are happy. i look after them wel a fren told
me its not permissible islamically to keep rabbits as pets or in a
cage
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Sister in Islam,
It is permissible for one to keep rabbits as pets as long as they are taken care of adequately and they are not tortured in any way.
