North Pole - Salah Timings

Question

I am a student doing Islam at school. I am wondering that if you live in the North Pole, where it is sunny for 24 hours a day for 6 months, do you still have to do all your prayers to Allah?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Yes, even in very extreme latitudes where the sun does not set for months, a Muslim will still perform all 5 prayers every 24 hours.

The prayer times will be determined according to the nearest place where normal prayer timings occur.  (Shaami vol.1 pg.364) [i]

And Allah Taāla Knows Best
