A person on visit visa in Saudi Arabia, Dammam. Going to Jeddah for 5 days to visit daughter and to perform Umra as well. To wear Ahram from Dammam or can wear ahram from Jeddah.

Question

A person on visit visa in Saudi Arabia, Dammam. Going to Jeddah for 5 days to visit daughter and to perform Umra as well.

To wear Ahram from Dammam or can wear ahram from Jeddah.

Other concerned is, We live in a nonislamic country, can we support a islamic country in any rivalry with our non islamic country.

Answer

In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful


Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh

You should don the ihrām from Dammam if you have intention of making Umrah as well.

(Ap kay Masail, Vol.4, Pg.101)

We are unaware of the rivalry and the issues leading to the dispute between the country in which you live (non Islamic country) and the Islamic country. Hence, we cannot comment on the issue and advise that you consult the prominent and reputable Ulama’ of your country.
