My dad keeps using the word Talaaq to my mum

Question

Slms,

Since i was small i have seen my parents fighting & my dad hitting my mom badly. Recently he has started using this word TALAAQ over

every fight. Sumtimes he says it once sumtimes twice ? What should the husband & wife do in this situation. Can they still stay together while the word TALAAQ IS USED OVER AND OVER ? pls reply
