Can a Hanafi sister marry without her parents consent?

Question

Can a Hanafi sister marry without her parents consent?

Answer

If a female has attained puberty, she will be regarded as an adult in
Shariah and will be entitled to make her own decisions regarding her
marriage and wealth.

As such, in principle she does not require the consent of her parents to
marry. However, in view of marriage being a major step in her life, she
should consult with them in choosing her partner.

Their love for her and experience in life will be of meaningful assistance
and comfort for her.
