regarding qiraat in namaaz behind the imaam. Assalamualaikum Hazrat Mufti Saheb. If Hazrat could please enlighten us on qiraat khalfal imaam (reading sura fatiha fistly, and also with regard to reading a sura)whilst following an imam. If Moulana Saheb could please enlighten us according to the main different mazhaahib. Maaf 4 the takleef,may Allah S.W.T grant Moulana and Moulanas family long and Truely succesfull lifes.(Aameen.) p.s. Moulana may edit this question if Moulana so wishes. Jazaakumullah. According to Imam Abu Hanifa (RA) Qirat Khalfal imam is not permissible. A follower behind the imam must remain silent in the Qiyam (Standing) posture. Rasulullah (SAW) said that person who has an imam, the imams recitation will be his recitation. In another narration, Rasulullah (SAW) said, when the imam recites, keep quite.
