Should one recite sura fatiha behind an imaam?
Question
salam alikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhoo, brother i need further clarification i follow the hanafi fiqh and in that you should not recite fatiha behind imam and they also have evidence from that thus i dont know what to do recite fatiha or dont may allah guide you and sort out all are affairs and make us do what is right . jazakallah khair.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, The Most Merciful.
As-salaamu `alaykum wa-ramatullahi wa-barakatuh.
There are differences of opinions among the Imaams of the four Mazhabs on the issue of reciting Sura Fatiha behind the Imaam.
According to Imaam Abu Hanifa (Rahimahullah) a Muqtadi (Follower behind an Imaam) should remain silent in the standing posture and should not recite Sura Fatiha. Every Muqallid (follower of a Mazhab) should follow his school of thought and respect other Mazhabs.
As a Hanafi, you should abide by the rulings of the Hanafi Mazhab and respect the rulings of other Mazhabs[1]

تبيين الحقائق - ث (1/ 131)
( وَلَا يَقْرَأُ الْمُؤْتَمُّ ) بَلْ يَسْتَمِعُ وَيُنْصِتُ وقال الشَّافِعِيُّ يَجِبُ على الْمُؤْتَمِّ قِرَاءَةُ الْفَاتِحَةِ لِقَوْلِهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَا صَلَاةَ إلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَحَدِيثُ عُبَادَةَ بن الصَّامِتِ أَنَّهُ صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لِلْمَأْمُومِينَ الَّذِينَ قَرَءُوا خَلْفَهُ لَا تَفْعَلُوا إلَّا بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ فإنه لَا صَلَاةَ لِمَنْ لم يَقْرَأْ بها وَلِأَنَّ الْقِرَاءَةَ رُكْنٌ من الْأَرْكَانِ فَيَشْتَرِكَانِ فيه كَسَائِرِ الْأَرْكَانِ وَلَنَا قَوْله تَعَالَى ! ( وإذا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا له وَأَنْصِتُوا ) ! قال أبو هُرَيْرَةَ كَانُوا يَقْرَءُونَ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ فَنَزَلَتْ وقال أَحْمَدُ أَجْمَعَ الناس على أَنَّ هذه الْآيَةَ في الصَّلَاةِ وفي حديث أبي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي مُوسَى وإذا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا

وله: (ولا يقرأ المؤتم خلف الإمام) وقال مالك: يقرأ في السرية لا في الجهرية، وقال الشافعي: يقرأ الفاتحة في الكل، والأصح ما قلنا، لقوله تعالى: {وَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنصِتُوا} [الأعراف: 204] وأكثر أهل التفسير على أن هذا خطاب للمقتدين.
