My cousin wishes to immigrate here. Is it Okay to perform a fake marriage

Question

I currently live in Canada.My cousin wishes to immigrate here. Is it Okay to perform a fake marriage by signing papers so that she can immigrate here? We both consent and know the marriage is not real

Both myself and my cousin agree that this is a fake marriage. The only reason why we would sign the papers is so that she can move to Canada and have a better life here.

Answer

The institution of Nikah is a sacred one. It should not be used for ulterior purposes and motives. A fake marriage is deception and lies which is expressly prohibited in the Shari’ah.
