Is it permissible to take pictures of insects and animals (like cat, parrot etc.)?

Question

Is it permissible to take pictures of insects and animals (like cat, parrot etc.)? 2) Is is permissible to watch only Islamic programs on TV (i.e. Dr. Israr Ahmad's Lectures on Q-TV)? 3) Is is permissible to read the Holy Quran at the time of "Zawal"?

Answer

1. Photographs of animate objects like animals etc are not permissible to take.

2.Even if television programs feature "good" educational content, it would not be permissible to watch them as they are pictures of animate objects, which have been forbidden in many ahadith.

3. Yes, recitation of the Qur'an is permissible at "Zawal".
