what are the rules concerning rodents as pets (rabbits, hamsters, cavies, mice, rats)?

Answer

It is not advisable for one to keep rodents as pets since it is of no avail. There is no harm in keeping these animals if one derives such benefit from them which is not in any way contrary to the teachings of Shari?ah.
