Fatwa #842123 April 2003India

Is it true that there are NO SAHEEH HADITH to support the practice of placing the hands below the navel in prayer

Answer

This is the claim of some people. However, the narration of Sayyiduna Waail ibn Hujr (Radhiallaahu Anhu) that has been recorded by Imaam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (RA) in his Musannaf (vol.1 pg.427; Tayyib Acadey, Multan) is a Hadith whose narrators have all been classified as reliable.

Allaamah Qaasim ibn Qutloobugha (RA) comments on this Hadith saying, ?It?s chain of narrators is good.? (refer Dishamus Suraah pg.40; Idaratul Quraan)
