Is 'Alisha' a bad name?

Question

I have a quetion about mya daoughter's name. We have named our daughter, Alisha. We found that name on some muslim names site,and they said Alisha means 'protected by god'. However, my father in law told us to change the name saying the name,Alisha has bad meanings. Does the name really have bad meanigs?

Answer

Alisha is not an Arabic name. In Farsi and Urdu, it means high king or leader.
