a friend of mine has got his girlfriend (a non Muslim) pregnant, the girl's parents want an abortion, the boy does not and the girl is confused, the girl is three weeks pregnant, should she have an abortion or what is your opinion in this matter? If possible, could you reply as quick as possible.
Answer
First and formost, his relationship with this woman is Haraam ? strictly prohibited. He should sincerely repent from this heinous crime.
We suggest he gets her to convert to Islam and thereafter marry her as soon as possible. The child born six months or more after the time of the Nikah will be regarded as a legitimate child. If less than six months, the child will be regarded as an illegitimate child.
