Is sunni the shorter name for ahlus sunnah wal jamaah & could you tell me what madhab you follow. is maulana mufti Muhammad shafi reliable & are his books good.
Answer
1. Sunni literally means one who follows the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam). The meaning of Sunni differs in different places. In some instances, the word ?Sunni? is an abriged word for Ahlus sunnah Wal Jamaa.
2. We follow the Hanafi Madhab.
3. Mufti Shafi is a personality whose authority cannot be disputed. He was a great scholar of his time and all his writings are authentic and very beneficial.
