I would like to Get Married to the girl just got Divorce... she got offical divorce just today and everything is cleared up now.
Question
The girl I am about to marry, was married before and has been seperated from her husband for about 3 years with the intention of getting divorse. They never saw each other in this time period and she was always requesting divorse from her husband. Due to various legal issue, she however, got offical divorse just today and everything is cleared up now. I would like to get married to her in next 10 - 15 days. can I get married to her?
Answer
No, it will not be permissible for you to get married to her. She will have to first sit in Iddat for the period of 3 menses.
