According to my understanding Yazid was the man who killed the grandson of the Prophet (s.a.w).Is this name therefore allowed?

I know of some muslims who are named Yazid. Considering the person who it is attributed to in Islamic history are we allowed to use this name as muslims?

Answer

It is permissible to keep the name Yazid.
