With regards to fatwa 6876 : Could you plz explain what you have said about Iblees, in that fatwa, in greater detail?

Could you plz explain what you have said about Iblees, in that fatwa, in greater detail? Are you saying Iblees used to be an angel, just like Jibreel (AS), is an angel, and then became a jinn? Plz read the following two articles. One article says that Iblees was always a jinn : http://islamonline.net/completesearch/english/FatwaDisplay.asp?hFatwaID=64865 The other article says that Iblees used to be an angel : http://groups.yahoo.com/group/islaminst/message/3095 Which position do you agree with?

Answer

Iblees was and is a Jinn. He was given the position of an angel because of his abundant Ibaadat (worship).
