Fatwa #696618 October 2002United States of America

During congregational Salaat, standing behind the Imam, what parts should I recite or repeat, and during when should I remain silent?

Question

Please provide your response for every action.

Answer

According to the Hanafi Madhab, when performing Salaat behind the Imaam, the follower must say the Takbeer (Allaahu Akbar), Thanaa (praise Allah) and thereafter maintain silence in the remaining standing posture (Qiyaam).

He should recite in all the remaining postures the Masnoon Du?aas.
