I am college student and want to become a doctor, but I am going to go to a Muslim country and become an imaam or Islamic Scholar first. Isn't that a good decision?

Yes, this is a good decision.

The best decision is to become a good, pious and practicing Muslim even more than becoming an Imaam or scholar. Whatever you choose to do, your objective should be the pleasure of Allah Ta?ala.
