I have a beard but you can see the skin underneathe does this area have to be washed during wudu and how should this area be washed.Also is it minor shirk to say I should have done this when speaking about the past?

Answer

In principle, if a person has a sparse beard, it is necessary for water to reach the skin of the face. (Fataawa Mahmoodiyah vol.9 pg.50)
