Fatwa #65499 September 2002United States of America

Please give me a dua to save my own children from my nazar

Answer

The following words of the holy Qur'aan could be recited, 'Maa shaa Allaahu
laa hawla walaa quwwata illaa billaah.' (Surah Kahf Verse40)

Haafiz ibn Kathir (RA) states, 'Some of the predecessors have mentioned, 'whoever is overwhelmed by any of his possessions, conditions or children, he should recite these words.' (Tafseer ibn Kathir vol.3 pg.88).

A study of the translation of this verse would shed more light and
understanding. The following Du'aa could also be recited, 'U'eedhu
bikalimaatillaahit taammaat min kulli shaytaan wa haamah, wa min kulli
shay-in laammah.' (Bukhari Hadith3371)
