Where should the hands be placed in salaat? Can you give me proof from hadith that says what we should do?

Answer

According to the Hanafi Madhab, in the standing position of Salaat, the
right hand should be placed upon the left hand and it should be kept below
the navel.

Hadhrat Ali (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that it is from the practice of
Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) that during Salaat, he used to place the
right hand over the left and kept it beneath the navel. (Abu Dawud vol.1
pg.110)
