Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) is reported to have said, 'The
pursuit of knowledge is a compulsion upon every Muslim.'

This Hadith clearly shows the obligation of seeking knowledge. This
knowledge refers to basic knowledge relating to the integral aspects of
Deen.
