Regarding Q.3431, Isn't it a sin to hide a truth knowingly?
Question
I think one ayat in Qur'an says that we should not cover the truth with false and should not hide the truthknowingly. Please clarify the ayat.
Answer
In a general situation, it is not a sin to hide a truth.
In fact, in certain instances, we are advised to do so. For example, when a
person commits an act that is punishable in Islam. It is, however,
prohibited to speak an express lie.
