I have heard that the age of Ayesha R.A. was maybe 16 or 18 (according to some narrations) when she got married. How authentic are the records that say that it was less?

Answer

Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) married Hadhrat Aaisha
(Radhiallaahu Anha) when she was 6 years of age. Hadhrat Aaisha
(Radhiallaahu Anha) began staying with Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi
Wasallam) when she was nine years old. (Bukhari; Chapter of Nikah)
