I would like to know if you are allowed to kill an ant without a reason?

Question

Asalamualaikum 1.

Answer

It is not permissible to cause harm to any living creature without a valid
Shar'i excuse. Numerous Ahaadith prohibit cruelty to living creatures, such
as the prohibition of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) that a living
creature be killed (without excuse) while being held in thrall. (Muslim)
