1 Why are we not allowed to speak or read while relieving ourselves in the bathroom?
Answer
It is a means of the anger of Allah and against self esteem.
Imam Abu Dawud and Imaam ibn Maajah (RA) have recorded the Hadith of
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'eed Khudriy (Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Rasulullah
(Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'No two men should go to the toilet,
exposing their private parts and speaking to each other. For verily, Allah
Ta'ala hates such an action.' (Abu Dawud vol.1 pg.10; Ibn Maajah)
This Hadith has been graded as Hasan (sound) by the Muhadditheen. (Refer to
al-Mirqaah vol.2 pg.74)
