Regarding the rule of tattooing in islam, i would like to know is it permissible to get a tattoo and if not, is there any hadith which clearly states tattooing is haraam?
Answer
Tattooing is not permissible in Islam. Imam Bukhari (RA) has recorded a
Hadith in his Sahih on the authority of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar
(Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) cursed the
tattooist and the one who gets himself tattooed.
