Support Mufti Ebrahim Desai's Projects and Contribute to his Biography

Executive Summary

Mufti Ebrahim Desai (may Allah have mercy on him) served the global Muslim community through the AskImam.org website via 40,000+ fatwas for over twenty years. With his sad demise in July, we want to support his family and the projects they are working on, including publishing a biography of the beloved Mufti Sahib. 

We benefited from his services. Now, it is our turn to give back.

The Story of AskImam

Simple efforts go a long way. The world renowned AskImam.org website has served the global Muslim community, scholars and the general public alike, for over two decades. However, its beginnings were a seemingly small effort and a show of appreciation.

Mufti Sahib said regarding the origins of the website:

“When I was in the fatwa department at Jami'atul ‘Ulama, an enthusiastic young man, approximately 17-18 years of age, from San Jose, California, sent me a question regarding the miswāk. I replied to him with a detailed response. He was so happy with the answer that he made a website for me. A few years later, I came to know that the young man passed away from blood poisoning. The entire AskImam website serves as a sadaqa jariya for him."

A small act of appreciation from someone who benefited from Mufti Sahib became a source of continuous reward (sadaqa jariya) for him. Only Allah Ta'ala knows what our small act of appreciation may turn into and become a means of our benefit after our passing.
