Medicial Marijuana
Question
Assalam O Alaikum,
I previously sent an email regarding an inquiry about investing in Medicial Marijuana. But I have still not received a response. So I am posting the question again.
My friend invest in some medicinal marijuana stocks. But I would like to know what is the islamic ruling on investing in medicinal marijuana? Is it halal to invest in medicinal marijuana?

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
1. If a company is involved in research and development for the treatment of certain health conditions through medicinal marijuana, then it will be permissible to invest in such a company subject to the conditions outlined in the following link: http://askimam.org/public/question_detail/46129
2. It is not permissible to invest in recreational cannabis companies that cater to products that don't serve medical purposes.
