Is their special significance of the night b4 the Day of Eid? Can we decorate (lights, etc.) our houses and the Masjids for Eid?
Answer
1. Yes, there is special significance for the night before Eid. In a Hadith
Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'This night is referred to
Laylatul Jaa0izah (night of prize giving).' Hence, this opportunity should
be utilized fully to fulfil one's material and spiritual needs.
2. Decorating the homes and Musjid is not be permissible. These are ways of
the Kuffaar. Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, 'Whoever emulates a
nation is from amongst them.'(Abu Dawud pg.559; HM Saeed)
