Salaah times while traveling
Question
When travelling between my home town and destination, what time of prayers do I follow ? Do I continue to follow home town salah times until I reach my destination? Jazakallah
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
When a person is travelling, he will follow the Salaah times of the town that he is currently in at the time of Salaah.[i] For example, if a person is travelling from South Africa to Saudi Arabia. If he is currently flying over Egypt, then he will follow the Salaah times of Egypt for that particular Salaah.
Nowadays, with the advancement of technology, it is very easy to determine the Salaah times for the different cities.

قوله: "إلى الغروب" هو أول زمان بعد غيبوبة تمام جرم الشمس بحيث تظهر الظلمة في جهة المشرق وفي البخاري عنه صلى الله عليه وسلم: "إذا أقبل الليل من ههنا فقد أفطر الصائم" أي إذا وجدت الظلمة حسا في جهة المشرق فقد دخل وقت الفطر أو صار مفطرا في الحكم لأن الليل ليس ظرفا للصوم

الجواب ، قاعدہ یہ ہے کہ روزہ اور نماز میں اس مقام کاوقت معتبر ہوگا جہاں پر آدمی ہو، چونکہ سورۃ مسئولہ کے مطابق يہ شخص جہاز میں ہے اس لیے جب اس حالت میں سورج غروب ہوجاۓ تو پھر روزہ افطار کرے ۔ قال العلامة ابن عابدين : المراد بالغروب زمان غيبوبة جرم الشمس حيث یظهر الظلمة في جهة الشرق ۔ ( ردالمحتار ج ۲ ص88)
