How do I make Qadha of three years Salaah?
Question
I have recently found out I have to make qada for around 3 years of Salah due to being in state on janabah, so I'm making this question to ask what I should say in my intention, and also the best way to perform it, as in should I do all my qada over 3 years or maybe do all of it in one year.
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is pleasing to note that you desire to make up your missed Salah. This is a sign of Iman.
When one makes Qadha of his salah, he must specify the Salah he missed.
When one is unable to specify when he missed the Salah, he should make the following intention when making up his missed Salah: “I am making Qadha for the first Fajr Salah I missed”. Every time he makes up his missed Fajr Salah, he will make the same intention.
Similarly, one will use a similar intention for the rest of his Salah. For example, he will make the following intention for Zuhur Salah: “I am making up my first missed Zuhur Salah” and so on.[1]
You have missed three years of Salah. It will take you time and endurance to make up this amount. An easy method to make up your Salah is to pray one Qadha Salah before or after each Fardh Salah. Inshallah, through this method, you will be able to make up all your missed Salah.

(قوله كثرت الفوائت إلخ) مثاله: لو فاته صلاة الخميس والجمعة والسبت فإذا قضاها لا بد من التعيين لأن فجر الخميس مثلا غير فجر الجمعة، فإن أراد تسهيل الأمر، يقول أول فجر مثلا، فإنه إذا صلاه يصير ما يليه أولا أو يقول آخر فجر، فإن ما قبله يصير آخرا، ولا يضره عكس الترتيب لسقوطه بكثرة الفوائت.

وكذا في قضاء الصلاة لا يجوز ما لم يعين الصلاة ويومها بأن يعين ظهر يوم كذا مثلا، ولو نوى أول ظهر عليه أو آخر ظهر عليه جاز لأن الصلاة تعينت بتعيينه

"وإذا كثرت الفوائت يحتاج لتعيين كل صلاة" يقضيها لتزاحم الفروض والأوقات كقوله أصلي ظهر يوم الإثنين ثامن عشر جمادى الثانية سنة أربع وخمسين وألف وهذا فيه كلفة "فإن أراد تسهيل الأمر عليه نوى أول ظهر عليه" أدرك وقته ولم يصله فإذا نواه كذلك فيما يصليه يصير أولا فيصح بمثل ذلك وهكذا.
وإذا كثرت الفوائت" المراد مطلق الكثرة وإن لم تسقط الترتيب أفاده في الشرح قوله: "لتزاحم الفروض والأوقات" التي هي أسباب فاختلفت الأسباب كما اختلفت المسببات قوله: "كقوله أصلي ظهر الاثنين الخ" فيه نكتة وهي التنبيه على تاريخ تأليف هذا المحل كذا نبه عليه المؤلف وقال في الشرح ظهر الخميس عاشر ذي الحجة سنة خمس وأربعين وألف فبين التاريخين ثمانية أعوام وأربعة أشهر وثمانية عشر يوما.
