He said to her out of love, I worship you. Is his Nikah nullified?
Question
Hazrat maulana, If a married person while in a state of infatuation is fondling a prostitute and says ‘I worship you’ is his nikah nullified? The prostitute responded by saying “no you worship Allah”. The person affirmed this mentally and kept quiet. The person later on made taubah. Is the persons nikah nullified?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Worship means to show love and adoration.
If the person meant he loves and adores the person in reference, that will not be Kufr and Shirk. If he did not mean to take the person as Allah Ta’ala. Accordingly, his Nikah will remain intact. However, he should make Taubah for the Haram act and statement.
