Any Hadith-e-Qudhsi regarding following the Sunnah of Rasool SA. What does Quran and Saheh Hadith say about following the Sunnah of Rasool SA and Sahabas RA?
Question
I have some relatives; they do not follow sunnah at all. On the top of that they say it is not important at all, following sunnah is not necessary, it is just a personal choice. What should I say to them? JazakAllah Khair
Answer
Allah Ta'ala says that we must hold firmly to that which Nabi (Sallallaahu%0D%0AAlayhi Wasallam) has brought to us and that which he has prevented us from,%0D%0Awe must abstain thereof. Allah Ta'ala goes further on to say that we must%0D%0Afear Him. Verily Allah is very severe (stern) in metting out His punishment.%0D%0A(Juz 28)%0D%0A%0D%0AIn the two Aayaats of Sura Aali Imraan (3), Aayat 31 and 32, Allah Ta'ala%0D%0Astates, 'Say (O Muhammad), if you love (honour) Allah then follow Me, Allah%0D%0Awill love you and will forgive your sins and Allah is most forgiving and%0D%0AMerciful. Say (O Muhammad). Follow Allah and His Rasul, if you turn away,%0D%0Athen verily Allah does not like the disobedient.'%0D%0A%0D%0AIn a Hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) says that we should%0D%0Aadhere to his Sunnat and the Sunnat of the Khulafaa-e-Raashideen.%0D%0A%0D%0AHence, it is crystal clear that it is necessary upon us to follow the Sunnah%0D%0Aof Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) so that we gain success in both%0D%0Aworlds.%0D%0A%0D%0Aand Allah Ta'ala Knows Best%0D%0A%0D%0AMufti Ebrahim Desai
