Who is entitled to the Mahr?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. 

As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, Mahr is the sole right of the wife. Therefore, the Mahr should be given directly to the wife. She may do as she wills with it. The parents have no right to her Mahr.[1]
