I would like to know if I will be able to perform an Otoplasty
Question
as-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu -llāhi wa-barakātuh, I would like to know if I will be able to perform an otoplasty, it is a surgery that consists of gluing back the ears. Indeed, my ears have come off and it's really complex, I went to a surgeon and the answer was "From my point of view, your photos do show ear detachment as you say. "I would therefore like to know if I will be able to perform this operation without disagreeing with my religion. Thank you

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Otoplasty, also called ear surgery or ear pinning, is a surgical procedure used to improve the appearance of ears that stick out too far, are too large, or are otherwise abnormal in their shape or appearance. The surgery is customized to the patient’s ear anatomy so otoplasty may include changing the contours, projection and/or the size of the ears. Otoplasty can treat a variety of misshapen ears, but it is most used to treat ears that “stick out too far,” appearing prominent because they protrude away from the head.
In principle, cosmetic surgery is only permissible for correctional purposes. If a person has a defect, for example, if a person has an extra finger, it will be permissible to undergo surgery to remove the finger. However, it is not permissible to undergo cosmetic surgery if there is no defect and the surgery is simply for beautification purposes.[1]
We do not fully understand the extent of your condition. Your description is quite vague as you said, “my ears have come off” and the doctor said you have “detached ears”.
We therefore cannot ascertain whether your condition actually constitutes a defect or not. We advise you to consult your local Mufti along with a reputable competent Muslim doctor in your locality who can then advise you as to whether the condition is abnormal. If it is indeed a defect, it will be permissible to undergo the Otoplasty surgery on condition it will not pose a risk to your life and health.

و لا بأس بشق المثانة إذا كان فيها حصاة و في الكيسانيات في الجراحات المخوفة و القروح العظيمة و الحصاة الواقعة في المثانة و نحوها من العلل إن قيل قد ينجو و قد يموت أو ينجو و لا يموت تعالج * و إن قيل لا ينجو أصلا لا تداوى بل تترك و يباح قطع اليد للاكلة * رجل له سلعة أو حجر فأراد أن يستخرجه و يخاف منه الموت قال أبو يوسف رحمه الله تعالى إن كان فعله أحد فنجا فلا بأس بأن يفعل لأنه يكون معالجة و لا يكون تعريضا للهلاك * و في الفتاوي إذا أراد أن يقطع إصبعا زائدة أو شيئا آخر قال أبو نصر رحمه الله تعالى إن كان الغالب على من قطع مثل ذلك الهلاك فإنه لا يفعل لأنه تعريض النفس للهلاك * و إن كان الغالب هو النجاة فهو في سعة من ذلك

إذا أراد الرجل أن يقطع إصبعا زائدة أو شيئا آخر قال نصير رحمه الله تعالى إن كان الغالب على من قطع مثل ذلك الهلاك فإنه لا يفعل وإن كان الغالب هو النجاة فهو في سعة من ذلك رجل أو امرأة قطع الإصبع الزائدة من ولده قال بعضهم لا يضمن ولهما ولاية المعالجة وهو المختار ولو فعل ذلك غير الأب والأم فهلك كان ضامنا والأب والأم إنما يملكان ذلك إذا كان لا يخاف التعدي والوهن في اليد كذا في الظهيرية من له سلعة زائدة يريد قطعها إن كان الغالب الهلاك فلا يفعل وإلا فلا بأس به كذا في خزانة المفتين

وأما قطع الإصبع الزائدة ونحوها؛ فإنه ليس تغييرا لخلق الله، وإنه من قبيل إزالة العيب أو مرض، فأجازه أكثر العلماء خلاف لبعضهم.
