Trimming the back and sides of a Zulfa

I hope Mufti Sahib is well.
I wanted to ask regarding the Zulfa. I have often seen that those who wish to keep their hair long, cut it nearly from the back to make it look presentable, this is done without cutting the hair from anywhere else. Also, some with zulfas, cut their hair excessively from the sides whilst leaving the front and back as it is.
I wanted to enquire if this is permissible, because I was wondering that wudn't this action come under Qaza', and if it doesn't, then the hair is still uneven from certain places as it cut from the back only or the sides only.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, Qaza’ is to shave one part of the head and leave the other part unshaved.[1] See the following Hadith:
عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْقَزَعِ قَالَ: وَمَا الْقَزَعُ؟ قَالَ: أَنْ يُحْلَقَ مِنْ رَأْسِ الصَّبِيِّ مَكَانٌ وَيُتْرَكَ مَكَانٌ (سنن ابن ماجة 3637)
Translation: Ibn Umar (Radhiyallahu Anhu) said: Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) prohibited us from Qaza’. Ibn Nāfi’ enquired: What is Qaza’? He replied: “To shave one part of a child’s head and leave the remaining part unshaven.”
Accordingly, trimming the back and the sides of a Zulfa is not Qaza’. It is done to neaten the appearance and make one’s self look presentable. Therefore, trimming the sides and back when keeping long hair is permissible.

الفتاوي الهندية (ج5 ص357)
ويجوز حلق الرأس وترك الفودين إن أرسلهما وإن شدهما على الرأس فلا كذا في القنية. كره القزع وهو أن يحلق البعض ويترك البعض قطعا مقدار ثلاثة أصابع كذا في الغرائب. عن أبي حنيفة رحمه الله تعالى يكره أن يحلق قفاه إلا عند الحجامة كذا في الينابيع.

وفي الاصطلاح: قال ابن عابدين: القزع: هو أن يحلق بعض الرأس ويترك البعض قطعا مقدار ثلاثة أصابع كذا في الغرائب. وقال النووي: القزع حلق بعض الرأس مطلقا، منهم من قال: هو حلق مواضع متفرقة منه. اتفق الفقهاء على كراهة القزع. لان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم نهى عن القزع وقال: احلقوه كله أو اتركوه كله.
