Marrying a pregnant woman
Question
Hi I'm looking to marry a revert who is pregnant and has been previously married however the ex husband divorced here within a few week her baby is due in 3 months am I allowed to marry her while she is pregnant or do I have to wait till after
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu 'alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In principle, the Iddah period for a divorcee who is pregnant is until she delivers the child. She cannot get married until the Iddah period has been completed i.e. before the birth of the child.
Therefore, you will have to wait until the delivery of the child in order for you to marry her.[1]

وإذا طُلِّقَت المرأة ثلاثاً أو تطليقة يَمْلِكُ فيها الرجعةَ زوجُها فإن (1) عليها العدة كما قال الله تعالى في كتابه: {ثَلَاثَةَ قُرُوءٍ} (2)، إن كانت تحيض. وإن كانت لا تحيض من صغر أو كبر فعدتها ثلاثة أشهر. فإن كانت حاملاً فعدتها أن تضع حملها. وإن كانت امرأة من أهل الكتاب وزوجها مسلم فعليها من العدة ما على الحرة المسلمة
