Dr Sallābi’s works on seerah and history
Question
Assalamualaikum
Dr Ali Muhammad As-Sallaabee has written books on the biographies of the noble prophet(saw) and the noble khulafa e rashideen.
Are these books authentic and will it be good for a non aalim like me to read these books?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Dr Sallābi’s books on the life of Rasūlullah (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the four al-khulafā ar-rāshidoon, are well-researched and authentic.
However, in recognising his excellence in the field of sīrah and history, we do not endorse other aspects regarding him such as his salafi beliefs, his fiqhi rulings etc. We should confine ourselves to the aspects of sīrah and tarīkh(history) when benefiting from him.
If you do come across any aspect in any book that you are unsure about, we advise you to revert to the ‘ulama, and clarify.
