Is kinesiology permissible in Islam?

Question

Assalmu alaikum. Is kinesiology permissible in Islam? I know some of the modern day therapies have roots like Kabbalah which are haraam such as chakra therapy.Jazakallah

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Kinesiology means ‘the study of movement’. It employs different methods in muscle monitoring to look at what may be causing ‘imbalances’ in the body and attempts to relieve these imbalances.

It does not involve any incorrect belief system, or other harām elements.

Accordingly, it will be permissible to undergo kinesiology therapy.
